We have developed an efficient process to assess a potential client and project to ensure both the client and our team's expectations are well aligned.
Before we quote or start any project, we conduct a thorough, no-cost home evaluation. This ensures that we have a full understanding of your needs and manage the expectations of all involved. While we start with an in depth phone call to assess the scope of a project, the home evaluation provides a deeper insight to the true condition of a project. Your level of comfort and trust is of utmost importance to us.
Standard cleaning and deep cleaning serve different purposes and involve varying levels of intensity and thoroughness. Here's a breakdown of their key differences:
Standard Cleaning:
Frequency: Standard cleaning is typically performed on a regular basis, such as weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on individual preferences and household needs.
Surface-Level: Standard cleaning focuses on surface-level tasks aimed at maintaining a basic level of cleanliness. It involves routine chores like dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping down surfaces to remove visible dirt, dust, and grime.
Maintenance: The primary goal of standard cleaning is to maintain cleanliness and tidiness by addressing day-to-day dirt and messes. It helps prevent the accumulation of dirt and reduces the need for more intensive cleaning tasks in the future.
Duration: Standard cleaning sessions are typically shorter in duration compared to deep cleaning sessions since they involve fewer tasks and focus on regular maintenance rather than deep cleaning.
Deep Cleaning:
Intensity: Deep cleaning is a more thorough and comprehensive cleaning process that targets areas and tasks not typically addressed during standard cleaning routines. It involves deep-cleaning tasks aimed at removing stubborn dirt, grime, and buildup from hard-to-reach or neglected areas.
Infrequent: Deep cleaning is not performed as frequently as standard cleaning and is usually done on a less frequent basis, such as quarterly, semi-annually, or annually, depending on factors like household size, lifestyle, and cleaning preferences.
Comprehensive: Deep cleaning covers a wide range of tasks that go beyond surface-level cleaning. It may include cleaning inside appliances, scrubbing grout lines, washing windows, dusting light fixtures, and deep-cleaning upholstery and carpets.
Time-Consuming: Deep cleaning sessions are typically more time-consuming and labor-intensive than standard cleaning sessions due to the thoroughness of the tasks involved. They may require more time and effort to complete, especially if certain areas or items have been neglected for an extended period.
Restorative: Deep cleaning helps restore cleanliness and freshness to areas of the home that have accumulated dirt, grime, and buildup over time. It is especially beneficial for addressing neglected areas or preparing the home for special occasions or seasonal transitions.
In summary, while standard cleaning focuses on regular maintenance and surface-level tasks to keep the home clean on a day-to-day basis, deep cleaning is a more intensive and infrequent process aimed at thoroughly cleaning and rejuvenating the home by addressing deep-seated dirt, grime, and neglected areas. Both types of cleaning are important for maintaining a clean, healthy, and inviting living environment.

We run a pretty tight ship with our collective group of team members. All team members are independent contractors vs employees. The Happy Bandana supports small business and entrepreneurship. We feel it is a privilege and honor to be allowed into your home and private space and we tightly guard your privacy and trust. Regardless of their skillset, all team members are required to provide and/or complete the following:
We do not accept cash payments. We adhere to strict accounting principles and guidelines as put forth by local, state and federal guidelines. Our team members are compensated accordingly and are provided a 1099 for each tax year.
The Happy Bandana's handyman services are conducted in compliance with the Contractors State License Board (CSLB). We have team members who serve as General Handyman and service projects that do not exceed $500.00 per project in labor and materials. For projects that exceed this threshold, we have licensed contractor partners who will perform the tasks needed for a specific project.
The Contractors State License Board (CSLB) in California regulates various construction-related trades and services, including handyman services. While the CSLB doesn't issue specific handyman licenses, it does have guidelines and regulations that handymen must adhere to if their work falls within the scope of construction activities that require a license.
Scope of Work: The CSLB defines a handyman as someone who performs minor repairs and maintenance tasks that do not exceed $500 in labor and materials. These tasks typically include small-scale projects such as painting, minor electrical work, minor plumbing repairs, and similar tasks.
Licensing Requirements: In California, if the total cost of labor and materials for a construction project exceeds $500, the individual performing the work must have a contractor's license issued by the CSLB. This requirement applies even if the work is considered "handyman" in nature.
Exemptions: There are exemptions to the licensing requirement for certain trades and services. For example, team members performing work on their own property or providing labor or services without compensation are generally exempt from licensing requirements. It is important to note that The Happy Bandana team members will not perform such services to our clients outside the scope of compliance.
Insurance and Liability: While not mandated by the CSLB for handymen specifically, The Happy Bandana team members are required to carry liability insurance to protect against potential accidents, property damage, or injuries that may occur during the course of work.
